For those who want a quick commute to the Dallas metroplex, the Northwest side of the lake, Kemp is definitely an area to consider. When the lake is not a full level, there are pathways to get to open water as well as some spectacular water views.
Kemp is on State highways 175 and 274 and Farm roads 1895 and 1391 near Cedar Creek Reservoir. Kemp is eight miles southeast of Kaufman in southeastern Kaufman County.
In 1965 Cedar Creek Reservoir was completed just south of the city proper. Much of the land around town is still devoted to cattle production. It's at the gateway from Dallas to Cedar Creek Lake.
Waterfront neighborhoods to consider:
Beacon Hill is a gated luxury home waterfront community with 180 degree views of Cedar Creek Lake. The have a private marina club, AquaLounge, and an iconic beacon that summons you home after a long day on the lake.
Cedar Creek Country Club is located only one hour away from downtown Dallas. It is easily accessible from Highway 175 in Kemp. It features an 18-hole golf course, boat launch, swimming pool, tennis courts, and club house with activities plus a dining room open six days a week. They offer several different membership packages from a social membership to a charter membership. There are many different styles of homes in the area - golf course homes, waterfront and off-water.
Cedar Creek Landingis the newest development on the northeast side of Cedar Creek Lake with approximately 170 total homesites. Its adjacent to Cedar Creek County Club. You'll enjoy beautiful sunsets from the open water and water view lots. Amenities include a gated entrance, community boat ramp, boat slips and clubhouse with exercise facility, lounge and infinity edge pool. Lighthouse Landing is just south of Kemp in Mabank off of highway 175. This a gated luxury waterfront home community.
Edgewater is a new gated waterfront community located on Cedar Creek Lake, just 45 minutes from Dallas. Open water, treed lots, underground utilities and a community pavilion are amenities enjoyed in Edgewater. Min sq ft for waterfront lots is 1800 sf and non-waterfront 1,400 sf.
